Health and Safety Courses

UFAS provides health and safety training to support safer workplaces and help learners understand practical safety responsibilities.

Courses may include manual handling, people moving and handling, food hygiene, HACCP awareness, fire safety awareness and other workplace safety training.

Good health and safety training should do more than tick a box. Your staff need to understand the risks they face at work, and know what to do about them.

UFAS provides practical workplace health and safety training for businesses and organizations across Ireland, with on-site, instructor-led and online options available depending on the course.

From manual handling and patient moving to fire safety, food safety and workstation assessments, we help employers give their people the knowledge and practical skills they need to work more safely.

Manual Handling Training

Practical, instructor-led manual handling training for employees who lift, carry, push, pull or move loads as part of their work.

Practical, instructor-led training that gives employees the knowledge and techniques to carry out relevant manual handling tasks more safely.

Patient Moving and Handling Training

Practical, instructor-led training in safe patient and people handling techniques for healthcare and care staff — on-site at your facility, anywhere in Ireland.

HACCP Awareness — Basic Food Safety Level 1

An introductory food safety course covering the knowledge and responsibilities every food handler needs — delivered on-site or as a blended online and in-person programme.

Fire safety awareness

Essential fire safety awareness for all staff — available as a self-paced online course or as instructor-led training at your workplace.

VDU / DSE Workstation Assessments

Employers in Ireland must assess workstations used by employees who have no choice but to use display screen equipment for their work, normally use it continuously for more than one hour and generally use it every day.

For employees who regularly use display screen equipment, a proper workstation assessment can identify problems with screen position, seating, desk setup and working posture before they become bigger problems.

Abrasive Wheels Training

Practical training in the safe selection, inspection, mounting and use of abrasive wheels — for anyone who uses or supervises abrasive wheel equipment in the workplace.

Evacuation Chair Training

Practical, hands-on training in the safe use of an evacuation chair — equipping your designated staff to assist anyone who needs help evacuating when the lift can’t be used..

Fire Warden Training

A practical, half-day course giving designated fire wardens the knowledge, skills and confidence to carry out their role safely — and to help protect everyone in your building.

Practical training for designated fire wardens, covering their responsibilities and the knowledge they need to help prevent fires, support safe evacuation and respond appropriately when an alarm is raised.

Bring the training to your workplace

You don’t always have to send your staff away to get them trained.

UFAS delivers health and safety training on-site for businesses and organizations across Ireland. Depending on the course, online and blended learning options may also be available.
