UFAS is a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) Approved Training Institution, delivering accredited first aid and health and safety training across Ireland. We are based in County Offaly and we train nationwide, either at your premises or on scheduled courses.

About P.JApproval is not a badge you win once and hang on the wall. It has to be earned repeatedly, and it is audited. At the end of 2025, UFAS passed its first PHECC audit with flying colours. Around the same time, we were approved to deliver Cardiac First Response (CFR-A) training, along with CFR-A instructor training and recertification — which means we can now train not only responders, but the instructors who go on to train many more.
This matters to you for a practical reason. A first-aid certificate is only worth what the training behind it is worth. When you train with a PHECC-approved institution that is passing its audits, you can be confident the content is current, the assessment is done properly, and your certification will be recognised where it needs to be.

We come to you. On-site training across Ireland means your team gets certified without losing a day to travel, and the scenarios can be built around the risks you actually face — a construction site, a crèche and a hotel are not the same room. Groups are kept to a size where everyone gets hands-on practice, because first aid is not learned by watching. [Confirm maximum group size.] Our instructors bring real-world experience into the room, and courses are run in plain English — practical, calm and free of jargon. Those are the same qualities you will need on the day you use them.
When someone’s heart stops, the ambulance is not the first responder. The person standing beside them is. Survival is decided in the first few minutes, long before help arrives. That is the thinking behind everything we do: more people trained, more defibrillators where people actually are, and fewer deaths that did not have to happen. It is also why we take part in the wider effort — including a fundraising appeal for the Irish Heart Foundation with a life-saving Automated External Defibrillator as the prize. We would rather you never need any of it. But if you do, we want you to be ready.
