Who it’s for

The Emergency First Aid course is suitable for workplace staff, schools, sports clubs, community groups, hospitality teams, activity providers and anyone who may need to respond quickly and confidently in an emergency.

This course is practical and scenario-based. It is not a substitute for the PHECC First Aid Response course where a recognised occupational first aid qualification is required.

There are no formal prerequisites.

Practical training for real emergencies

First aid is not learned by watching.

The course includes practical participation and scenario-based training designed to help learners put the skills into practice. Where appropriate, scenarios can be related to the environment your group actually works in.

The aim is not simply to remember a list of procedures. It is to help you recognise what is happening, stay calm and know what to do next.

Duration & assessment

Typically one day. Shorter awareness sessions may be available depending on the needs of the group. Assessment is by continuous tutor observation and practical participation throughout the course.

Certification

Participants who successfully complete the course receive a UFAS Emergency First Aid certificate of completion, valid for 2 years.

First Aid Response (FAR) is the PHECC programme to consider where you require a recognised workplace First Aid Responder qualification.
