No. This Emergency First Aid course provides practical first aid training but does not replace the PHECC First Aid Response (FAR) qualification where a recognised occupational First Aid Responder qualification is required.

Practical, scenario-based first aid training

First aid is best learned by doing.

Throughout the course, participants take part in practical exercises and emergency scenarios designed to turn first aid knowledge into usable skills.

Where appropriate, scenarios can be adapted to situations that could occur in your workplace, school, sports club or organisation.

The aim is not simply to memorise procedures. It is to help participants assess what is happening, take appropriate action and know what to do until professional medical assistance arrives.

Emergency First Aid course duration and assessment

The standard Emergency First Aid course is delivered over one day.

Assessment takes place throughout the course through tutor observation and practical participation. There is no formal written examination.

Bespoke shorter first aid awareness sessions may also be available for organisations with specific training requirements. These should be discussed separately with UFAS.

Emergency First Aid certification

Participants who successfully complete the course receive a UFAS Emergency First Aid certificate of completion.

The certificate is issued for a period of two years.

Please note that this is a UFAS course certificate and is not a PHECC First Aid Response (FAR) qualification.
