Fire Warden Training Course
Course Overview:
The Fire Warden Training Course is a 4-hour program designed to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and training in fire safety, as mandated by the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the Fire Services Act 1981.
Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will:
- Understand their duties as Fire Wardens and the appropriate actions to take during a fire or emergency.
- Possess the skills to recognize the importance of fire prevention and implement a fire prevention mindset within the workplace.
- Gain knowledge about Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEP), record keeping, fire drills, and promoting a culture of prevention.
Course Content:
The course covers the following topics:
- Legislation related to fire safety.
- Fire prevention strategies.
- Fire Warden responsibilities.
- Mechanics and behavior of fire.
- Evacuation procedures.
- Proper usage of fire blankets and fire extinguishers.
- Practical exercises, including building evacuation, fire extinguisher handling, and fire blanket usage (no real fire is involved).
Training Methodology:
The course combines presentation slides, DVD materials, and practical demonstrations. The training environment fosters a relaxed and interactive atmosphere, encouraging participants to discuss various scenarios.
Course Materials:
Each participant will receive a Fire Safety Booklet to support their learning.
Class Size:
The course accommodates a maximum of six participants, ensuring personalized attention and effective learning.
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Fire Warden Certificate, recognizing their achievement and competence as Fire Wardens.
