 Oxygen Therapy Administration: A comprehensive Half day course

This training equips participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to safely and effectively administer oxygen to individuals experiencing breathing difficulties. Attendees will learn the appropriate methods and timing for oxygen administration, as well as the essential safety considerations for handling, storing, and delivering oxygen.

The course is designed for qualified First Aiders, Emergency First Aiders, dental practitioners and dental care professionals, nurses, healthcare professionals, and individuals working in environments where oxygen is readily available for the well-being of patients.

Course Overview:

The course is a combination of practical and theoretical sessions conducted by experienced Instructors, who will provide a detailed outline of the program.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

- Explain the benefits of oxygen therapy
- Recognize the indications for using oxygen
- Understand the contraindications that restrict the use of oxygen
- Comprehend the potential risks associated with using compressed gas
- Outline health and safety protocols for the proper use, storage, and handling of oxygen
- Conduct operational checks to prepare for the use of oxygen therapy equipment
- Identify situations that require oxygen therapy
- Administer oxygen using appropriate flow rates for various oxygen delivery devices, including the non-rebreather mask and bag, valve, and mask
- Administer oxygen to patients following established guidelines and procedures

Certification:

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certification valid for two years. To renew their qualification, learners will need to retake the full course. However, it is highly recommended that they attend annual refresher courses throughout the two-year period.

Assessment:

The assessment process includes a variety of methods such as practical demonstrations and both open and multiple-choice questioning.

Course Capacity:

The course can accommodate a maximum of 12 students. All candidates must be at least 16 years old to qualify.

Location:

We offer the flexibility to conduct the course at your premises, provided that a pre-course assessment of your facilities is conducted. This arrangement helps reduce additional costs associated with travel and time away from work.
