Prerequisites
No prior qualifications or prerequisites are necessary for enrollment in this course. However, participants should have sufficient physical ability to perform chest compressions on a manikin while kneeling.

This training program is specifically tailored for individuals who work with or care for infants and young children. It is highly recommended for new parents, childminders, pre-school workers, and Montessori teachers.

Delivery Method
The course is facilitated by a qualified instructor who employs DVD presentations and interactive sessions to guide participants throughout the training. The medium of instruction is English.
Duration and Assessment
The training course spans a full day, encompassing module revisions and an examination. Each participant will be evaluated based on their CPR skills, response to two simulated first aid scenarios, and a short-answer question assessment. Grading will be determined by the achieved score, with a minimum passing requirement of 50%. Successful completion of each individual assessment is mandatory to obtain an overall passing grade for the course.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate valid for two years. This certificate should be presented alongside the original QQI certificate to demonstrate their qualification in paediatric first aid.
